課程概述

本課程是一個進階課程，內容主要是選讀、討論有關英國近代史（16-19世紀）的重要論著。整個課程以英國近代史的四大重要課題為綱：英格蘭宗教改革、不列顛內戰與革命、十八世紀的政黨政治、工業革命，各選擇三篇重要研究論文，供選課學生精讀與討論。希望修課學生透過論文的閱讀與討論，加深有關英國近代史的專業知識。

課程目標

一、加深學生的英國近代史專業知識。
二、了解英國近代史的研究成果與趨勢。
三、提升學生的專業英文閱讀能力。
四、培養學生的研究、討論風氣。
